On the 11th June Ian our SEO will be attempting to do a sponsored motorcycle run in aid of the Poppy Appeal. The run starts and finishes at Squires Cafe near Leeds. He will be riding the 1000 miles non-stop, excluding 5 fuel stops, via Berwick, Edinburgh, Wick, Fort William and the Birch service station. The ride must also be completed within 24 hours so there will be little time to enjoy the scenery! He will be riding the 1000 miles on his Triumph Trophy which will have had no modifications for the trip.
More information can be found at
But if any of you good people would like to provide any sponsorship we would be more than grateful. Any and all money received will go to the appeal.
Well the ride was completed without any issues at all. I completed it within the 24 hours and am now officially a member of the Iron Butt association. Despite the rain, fog and miserable English summer conditions the ride passed without incident, I only stopped the required 5 times to gain receipts to prove the journey had been completed as required. Over £200 was raised for the appeal and I am already planning new more challenging trips.
